West Indies and Trinidad and Tobago legend Learie Constantine hit a hundred in 52 minutes against Tasmania on this day in 1930.
1930 – Learie Constantine scored 100 in 52 minutes for West Indies against Tasmania at Launceston. He also took 2 for 35 as West Indies went on to win by an innings and 50 runs.
1973 – Former British Virgin Islands (BVI) cricketer Kevin Joseph was born in Trinidad. The left-hander represented the BVI in the 2006 and 2008 Stanford 20/20 tournaments.
1983 – Trinidad and Tobago midfielder Tasha St Louis was born in Carenage, Trinidad. The former Real Dimension player also appeared for the New England Mutiny and the Sunnana SK.
1983 – Daren Sammy, the first cricketer to come from St Lucia, was born. Sammy took seven wickets in an innings on debut in 2007. He was appointed West Indies captain in 2010 and led the West Indies to T20 World Cup wins in 2012 and 2016.
1995 – Trinidad and Tobago sprinter Asa Guevara was born in Chaguanas. He has won 4x400m relay gold medals in the CAC Junior Championships (2013), Carifta Games (2014), and World Relays (2019). Guevara also competed at the 2018 World Indoor Championships.
